Due to popular demand, Reid has finally released his cover of The Beatles classic, 'She Loves You' onto all the usual streaming platforms. Have a listen and a share. It all helps. Thank you.
"I was sat playing piano one day, as I often do, indulging in some 60s classics to warm up. I'd heard 'She Loves You' countless times in my life, but never actually thought too much about the lyrics and realised, when I stripped the song right back and slowed it right down, how beautiful and intelligent they are. I felt that allowing the lyrics the space to breath, gave the song new life. Testament to the genius of the songwriters; two kids from Liverpool over 60 years ago."
"There is a joy in a well-chosen cover version; a way of letting your listeners know where you're coming from, what you can do with what you've heard.
And there's a challenge: the courage needed to take on the classics, the most well-known of the canon.
Reid Anderson tackles one of the touchstones of modern pop, one of the titans, one of the game changers.
His take on 'She Loves You' (do you need me to tell you who the original is by?) replaces that joyous rush with a delicate yearning, quietly plangent piano and beautifully hushed vocals concentrating on the heartbreak at the heart of the song. This is how you cover: with grace, beauty, respect, understanding and love."
